Surviving (and Thriving!) at the Park With Kids: 7 Must-Know Tips for Moms
Nothing beats a sunny day at the park—until you forget snacks, lose a shoe, or realize the baby’s blowout wasn’t on your bingo card. 🫠 Whether you're a seasoned park pro or just entering the playground phase, these quick tips will help make your outings smooth, fun, and meltdown-free (well, mostly).
1. Pack Like a Pro
Toss these into your park bag: water bottles, sunscreen, baby wipes, snacks, a mini first-aid kit, and hats. If you’ve got little ones, a change of clothes (or two) is gold.
2. Go Early (or Late)
Peak sun and peak tantrums often go hand in hand. Try mornings or early evenings for cooler temps, fewer crowds, and well-rested kids.
3. Know Your Parks
Some parks are stroller-friendly, some have epic toddler zones, and some… don’t have bathrooms (yikes). Check in with us for all the must-know info before you go!
4. Bring Backup Entertainment
A bucket and shovel, a few trucks, or bubbles can turn a so-so park into a magical one. Bonus: they help your kid make fast friends.
5. Wear the Right Shoes (for You Too!)
You never know when you’ll need to climb the slide, rescue a stuck toddler, or chase down a rogue snack wrapper. Choose comfort over cute!
6. Plan for the Unexpected
Someone will fall, get hungry again, or need to pee when there’s no bathroom. Deep breaths. Keep your sense of humor handy—it’s your most powerful mom tool.
7. Make It a Habit
Kids love routine. Find a weekly “park day” and stick with it. Bonus points if you meet up with other moms for some grown-up convo while the kids play.
